The family of 28-month-old Ranik Pariyar who has been battling with thalassemia, an inherited blood disorder, has appealed to all to help in his treatment.
Ranik of Parini-1 in Argakhanchi, son of father Ram Bahadur and mother Radha, is under treatment at present, and doctors involved in his treatment have said that it requires Rs 1.7 million for a bone marrow transplant on him, said the family.
"Much money has been spent in son's treatment, all of which we borrowed. Now we are left with no options to collect fund required for his treatment. We appeal to all to save our son," said father Ram Bahadur. Ranik requires a blood transfusion once in every 10 days, and it costs approximately Rs 2,500 each, he said.
Earlier, the Pariyar family had taken their ailing son to Kathmandu-based Tribhuvan University Hospital and Civil Hospital to diagnose his illness, but to no avail. Ranik was diagnosed in New Delhi-based Safdarjung Hospital where Civil Hospital had referred him.
So far, approximately Rs 700,000 has been collected for his treatment. Those wishing to donate money for Ranik's treatment can deposit into Ram Bahadur's Rastriya Banijya Bank account (115004185510), and his Bank of Kathmandu account (034400000500524).
