Prime Minister Balen Shah has instructed police inspectors to perform their duties without succumbing to pressure or influence.
Addressing a graduation ceremony held at the National Police Academy on Monday, PM Shah urged police inspectors to stay clear of all forms of political pressure and personal interests while carrying out their responsibilities.
“I urge you to perform your duties impartially, in accordance with the Constitution, prevailing laws and regulations, without yielding to any undue pressure or influence,” he said.
PM Shah said that integrity and discipline were the key foundations for maintaining the Nepal Police’s reputation.
Congratulating the newly appointed police officers who had completed approximately 16 months of training, PM Shah emphasized professional dignity and ethics.
He also made it clear that the government was committed to providing the resources required by the police organization.
PM Shah cautioned police officers against succumbing to personal interests or undue influence that runs counter to the organization’s protocols, urging them to discharge their duties fearlessly.
“I believe you have acquired the knowledge, skills, and capabilities required to fulfill the responsibilities of police inspectors through this training. I expect you to put the knowledge and skills you have gained into practice and make ethics, integrity, honesty, discipline, and accountability the foundations of your performance,” PM Shah said.
