Counting of votes cast in the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress is currently underway.
In the open category of the vice-president election, Chandra Bhandari and Madhu Acharya are leading based on the latest vote count. Seven candidates contested for the two open vice-president positions.
Bhandari is in the lead with 679 votes, followed by Acharya with 393 votes.
Among other candidates, Govinda Bhattarai has received 345 votes, Surendra Raj Pandey has 337, Deepak Giri has 264, Dhanraj Gurung has 240, and Chandra Mohan Yadav has 138 votes so far.
In the inclusive category of the vice-president election, Binod Chaudhary is leading with 382 votes. Jeevan Pariyar has received 330 votes, Farmullah Mansur 190, Sita Gurung 170, and Ranjit Karn 107.
