The central election committee of the Nepali Congress is set to hold discussions with all candidates contesting for the posts of party president, vice-president, and general secretary under the party’s 15th general convention, focusing on election management.
According to Raju Katuwal, member secretary of the election committee, the discussion with all candidates will be held at the election office at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
He said that the meeting will focus on providing necessary information and coordinating with the candidates on election management and making the voting process orderly.
The election committee had initially announced that voting would begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, but it has been postponed to 1 p.m.
A total of 830 candidates are contesting for the posts of president, vice-president, general secretary, joint general secretary, and central committee member at the general convention.
The Nepali Congress central working committee has 297 members.
