The 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress will be held at Khula Manch in Kathmandu from October 4 to 8.
The party is preparing to hold both the inaugural and closed sessions of the general convention at Khula Manch.
According to Nepali Congress spokesperson Devraj Chalise, around 7,500 representatives are expected to participate in the general convention. So far, 7,028 general convention representatives have been finalized.
The number of representatives from the party’s sister organizations and affiliated groups has yet to be finalized. Party President Gagan Thapa also has yet to nominate 75 general convention representatives.
The party estimates that around 7,500 delegates will participate once all procedures are completed.
A total of 4,743 general convention representatives participated in the party’s 14th general convention.
At that time, each House of Representatives constituency was allocated 25 general convention representatives. This time, the number has been increased to 33 representatives from each constituency.
As a result, the number of delegates participating in the 15th general convention is expected to increase significantly compared with the previous general convention.
Meanwhile, Vice-president Bishwa Prakash Sharma and other party leaders inspected the general convention venue at Khula Manch on Friday. Preparations, including the construction of the main stage and other logistical arrangements, are progressing rapidly.
