House of Representatives passes National Cadet Corps Bill

The House of Representatives passed the National Cadet Corps Bill, 2026, at its meeting on Monday.

The proposal presented by Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam on behalf of Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Balen Shah was unanimously passed by the meeting.

While presenting the bill, Minister Gautam said that it had undergone extensive discussions in the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.

She said that the bill had been advanced by keeping children’s rights paramount.

Gautam said that the bill sets specific criteria for students who wish to undergo training. She added that it includes provisions prioritizing training for students from remote areas and issues related to remote regions.
