Chief Minister of Sudur Paschim province Kamal Bahadur Shah has resigned from his post.
He submitted his resignation to Province Chief Nazir Miyan on Thursday.
Before submitting the resignation letter, Shah had announced his resignation from the rostrum of the provincial assembly.
He resigned after being reduced to a minority following the CPN-UML’s withdrawal of support to his government.
The provincial budget could not be passed due to disagreements over the budget strained the Nepal Congress-UML coalition. Sudur Paschim is currently facing a budget vacuum.
With the UML’s support, Khagaraj Bhatta of the Nepali Communist Party is now preparing to become the next chief minister of Sudur Paschim.
