The Nepali Congress has pulled out of the Koshi provincial government.
Ministers from the Nepali Congress serving in the Koshi government collectively submitted their resignations to Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki on Wednesday.
The Nepali Congress had joined the Koshi provincial government on August 18, 2024.
The cooperation between the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress broke down after the UML and the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) reached a three-point agreement on July 25 to jointly run provincial governments.
Following the exit of Nepali Congress ministers, the NCP is now expected to join the Koshi government.
The Nepali Congress ministers in the government were Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Pradeep Sunuwar; Minister for Health Man Bahadur Limbu; Minister for Industry, Agriculture, and Cooperatives Israil Mansuri; Minister for Tourism, Forests, and Environment Bhim Parajuli; and Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure Development Shobha Chemjong.
All five submitted their resignations collectively to the chief minister.
