Former prime minister and former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba is set to return to Nepal on August 11.
According to Nepali Congress leader Prakash Sharan Mahat, Deuba will return home on the evening of August 11.
"I have received information that he is scheduled to return home on the evening of August 11," Mahat told Setopati.
Deuba had traveled to Singapore for medical treatment before the elections held on March 5. From there, he went to Hong Kong for further treatment. He is scheduled to return to Nepal from Hong Kong.
Earlier, Deuba had also sent letters to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and other bodies, informing them that he would return home within the month of Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August).
Deuba and his wife, Arzu Rana Deuba, were attacked by protestors at their Budhanilkantha residence on September 9 last year.
The Deuba faction is organizing a national gathering under the coordination of former general secretary Shashank Koirala from August 14 to 16. Deuba is scheduled to return just ahead of the event. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether he will participate in the event.
