The meeting of the National Security Council has concluded.
The meeting was held on Thursday afternoon under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
According to Kedarnath Sharma, member secretary of the council and secretary at the Ministry of Defense, this was the 43rd meeting of the council.
Sharma said that the meeting analyzed and reviewed international and regional security alongside the incident in Sunsari.
"This meeting analyzed and reviewed the national, international, and regional security situation. It also analyzed and reviewed incidents in the country," he said.
According to Sharma, the meeting decided to direct all relevant stakeholder bodies to play an active role to prevent incidents like the one in Sunsari from occurring in the future.
"To prevent such incidents in the national, international, and regional context, it has been decided that the government will direct stakeholder agencies to proactively work in coordination with provincial and local governments to prevent such incidents in the days ahead," he said.
He also said that a decision was made to play an active role in disaster response.
"Decisions were made regarding disaster response to timely execute search, rescue, and relief operations – unlike in the past – to provide services and facilities to citizens," he said.
