India says invitation sent to PM Shah for India visit

India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said that an invitation has been sent to Prime Minister Balendra Shah for an official visit to India.

Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Indian MEA, made the statement during a regular press briefing on Tuesday.

“Yes, an invitation has been sent to the prime minister of Nepal for a visit to India,” Jaiswal said in response to a journalist’s query.

However, Jaiswal did not comment on the visit and meetings of PM Shah’s chief advisor, Kumar Byanjankar (Ben).

A journalist asked him about the visit and meetings from the Nepali side. Responding to the question, Jaiswal said, “I do not have any information on this matter.”

Indian journalists asked whether India was preparing to welcome Nepal’s prime minister soon. Jaiswal did not comment on the timing or date of the visit.
