Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has provided Rs 100,000 in relief to the family of Ganesh Nepali.
Nepali, 25, from Soru Rural Municipality-1 in Mugu, recently died while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital following an attempted self-immolation.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Nepali Congress Acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal, Thapa provided Rs 100,000 in financial assistance to Nepali’s family as relief.
Nepali died during treatment on July 10.
Thapa also provided Rs 100,000 in relief to the family of Bibek Mandal of Sarlahi on Friday.
Mandal, 35, from Sisautiya in Godaita Municipality-10, Sarlahi, died while undergoing treatment following an attempted self-immolation.
Expressing grief over the incident, Thapa provided Rs 100,000 in relief to Mandal’s family on the 13th day of his death rites, according to the statement issued by Dulal.
Thapa also pledged to make arrangements for the education of Mandal’s children, the statement added.
Mandal died while undergoing treatment on July 14.
Thapa contested the House of Representatives election from Sarlahi-4 on March 5. He lost to Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Amaresh Kumar Singh.
