Only one complaint filed against proposed chief election commissioner

Only one complaint has been filed with the Parliamentary Hearing Committee against Man Bahadur Karki, who has been proposed as the new chief election commissioner.

The committee had invited complaints against Karki, along with proposed election commissioners Guru Wagle and Rajiv Subba. However, no complaints were filed against Wagle or Subba.

Only one complaint has been filed against Karki.

Another submission received by the committee contains suggestions regarding the appointment process for constitutional bodies. The suggestions include recommendations ranging from a lottery system to other appointment methods.

The committee is preparing to open and distribute the complaints to lawmakers on Tuesday. It is customary for the committee to invite complainants for discussions.

It is also preparing to distribute the work plans of the proposed commissioners to lawmakers on Tuesday. The date for the parliamentary hearing is also expected to be set on the same day.
