The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to establish a “Humanitarian Assistance Fund.”
NC Vice-president Bishwa Prakash Sharma announced the establishment of the fund while speaking at a press conference held at the party’s central office in Sanepa on Monday.
The party is organizing a “Green Run” on July 22 to mark BP Memorial Day.
“Based on the number of participants in the event, we will deposit a certain amount per person from our own fund and set up a ‘Humanitarian Assistance Fund,’” Sharma said. “The money from this fund will be spent for the welfare of elderly parents and young children of recently displaced squatter families."
The party’s central policy, research and training institute is preparing to organize a climate change-related event on July 22, followed by an event on July 23 to announce a new campaign of the party.
