Home Minister Sudan Gurung reportedly found a fish bone in an omelet he was eating.
According to information provided to journalists by the home minister's secretariat via WhatsApp, the incident occurred on Tuesday at Lords Plaza Hotel in Chitwan.
The secretariat said that the hotel management was questioned after an "inedible object" was found in the omelet.
"No employee has been arrested," the home minister's secretariat said.
However, it has been found that police questioned two employees of Lords Plaza Hotel regarding the matter before releasing them.
Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Paudel of the District Police Office, Chitwan, confirmed that two hotel employees were questioned about the incident.
"We questioned two individuals to understand what had happened. They said that they had no involvement and no knowledge of it. We have already released them," he said.
