The first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has begun in Chitwan.
The opening ceremony was held at the Guest House grounds in Bharatpur on Sunday afternoon.
Prime Minister Balen Shah is also present at the event. He is also a senior leader of the RSP.
In addition, RSP leaders, including party President Rabi Lamichhane, and most ministers from the federal government are attending the general convention.
The RSP has also invited leaders from other political parties to extend their greetings at the inaugural ceremony.
Among those attending are Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa, Pradeep Gyawali from the CPN-UML, Barshaman Pun from the Nepali Communist Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden.
Former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai is also participating in the RSP general convention.
