The deadline for updating active memberships of the Nepali Congress has ended.
The update process collected additional information from members whose memberships had been renewed or newly issued up to January.
The membership update campaign ran from April 14 until midnight on June 11. A total of 782,209 members were eligible for the update.
Of these, 538,622 members completed the update process through their ward committees and have already received their NC ID cards.
Another 149,309 members have applied for active membership updates but have yet to receive their NC IDs.
Those without an NC ID will not be eligible to participate in the party’s 15th general convention scheduled for September.
The Nepali Congress said that it will further streamline the update process for active members in some Himalayan districts and those affiliated with overseas public liaison committees abroad.
The party also said that applications for new active memberships have recently been opened online, and that interested applicants can continue to apply online.
