President Ram Chandra Paudel has issued an ordinance related to the Constitutional Council.
According to the president’s press advisor Kiran Pokharel, President Paudel issued the ordinance on Tuesday.
With this, President Paudel has issued all eight ordinances recommended by the government.
Previously, President Paudel had approved seven ordinances but returned the one related to the Constitutional Council for reconsideration. However, on Monday, the Cabinet once again decided to recommend the ordinance to the president for issuance. Following the second recommendation, the president issued that ordinance as well on Tuesday.
The Rastriya Swatantra Part’s majority government, led by Prime Minister Balen Shah, had introduced eight ordinances.
The enacted ordinances include the Constitutional Council Ordinance, the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts, the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Health Science Academies, the Ordinance on Special Provisions Related to the Removal of Public Officials from Office, the Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Universities, the Prevention of Money Laundering (Third Amendment) Ordinance, the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance, and the Cooperatives (First Amendment) Ordinance.
