The vice-chancellor, rector, and registrar of Tribhuvan University (TU) have resigned from their positions.
The TU officials – Vice-chancellor Deepak Aryal, Rector Khadga KC, and Registrar Kedar Rijal – tendered their resignations on Thursday.
Rector KC informed Setopati that they have already sent their resignation letters.
They sent their resignation letters to Prime Minister Balen Shah, who also serves as the chancellor, through university staff, and additionally forwarded copies to the prime minister’s secretariat through WhatsApp.
The government recently submitted a university-related ordinance to the president for issuance.
Against this backdrop, the TU vice-chancellor, rector, and registrar resigned to create a conducive environment for the government to carry out its work.
