The statute of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party has been passed.
Lawmakers approved the statute after holding discussions. The statute has now been sent to the party for endorsement.
In the House of Representatives election held on March 5, the Nepali Congress won 38 seats.
"Following discussions among lawmakers, the statute has been passed and sent to the party for endorsement," said Prakash Rasaili, coordinator of the election committee formed to elect the parliamentary party leader. "The process is moving forward according to the election schedule for selecting the party leader."
According to him, no significant changes were made to the parliamentary party's statute.
As per the election schedule, the final list of voters was published on Thursday.
The nomination of candidates for the position of parliamentary party leader will take place on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Voting is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the counting of votes to begin immediately after.
