The Cabinet has decided to implement the report submitted by the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led inquiry commission on the incidents that occurred during the Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9 last year.
Following his appointment as prime minister, Balen Shah chaired the first meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday.
Announcing the decisions of the meeting, government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said that the government has decided to immediately implement the report submitted to the government by the Karki Commission.
"Regarding individuals and agencies within the security apparatus identified by the commission, it has been decided to form a study committee and take action based on the recommendations submitted by that committee," Pokharel said.
He further said that for all other entities and individuals, it has been decided to direct the relevant agencies to implement the Karki Commission's recommendations immediately.
