Vote counting for the House of Representatives (HoR) election held on March 5 has concluded.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured close to a two-thirds majority of the votes. According to the Election Commission, RSP garnered 56.59 percent of the votes in the proportional representation (PR) electoral system in Madhesh Province. Out of the 2,298,082 valid votes counted in Madhesh, RSP received 1,300,468 votes.
In comparison to RSP, Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML received significantly fewer votes. The grand old party secured 287,323 votes, which accounts for 12.50 percent. UML received 187,901 votes representing 8.18 percent of the total votes.
JSP Nepal secured six percent, or 137,878 votes, while Nepali Communist Party (NCP) received 4.68 percent, or 107,612 votes. Janamat Party obtained 50,720 votes, which is 2.21 percent. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) received 35,642 votes, amounting to 1.55 percent.
