Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balen Shah, is leading in Jhapa Constituency No. 5 with nearly five times the votes of his closest rival, KP Sharma Oli of the CPN-UML.
According to the latest election results, Shah has secured 15,169 votes, while Oli has received 3,344 votes. The difference between the two now stands at 11,825 votes.
Meanwhile, Samir Tamang of the Shram Sanskriti Party remains in third place with 1,607 votes.
Mandhara Chimariya of the Nepali Congress has received 489 votes, followed by Ranjit Tamang of the Nepali Communist Party with 420 votes.
