Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balen Shah, has established a massive lead of over 10,000 votes in Jhapa Constituency No. 5.
As the counting continued on Friday evening, Shah has secured 13,654 votes. Meanwhile, former prime minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has received 3,011 votes. The margin between Shah and Oli currently stands at 10,643 votes.
Samir Tamang of the Shram Sanskriti Party is in the third place with 1,517 votes. Mandhara Chimariya of the Nepali Congress has received 403 votes, while Ranjit Tamang of the Nepali Communist Party has garnered 370 votes.
