The candidacy of Kishori Sah Kamal, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate in Dhanusha Constituency No. 1, has been canceled.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said that the Election Commission annulled Sah's candidacy on Monday.
Manoj Baral, the election officer of Dhanusha-1, said that after a complaint was filed against Sah, the matter was forwarded to the commission for a decision.
“The office itself is authorized to make a decision if a complaint is received during the period set for filing claims and objections. After the complaint was filed, we sent it to the commission,” he said. “The issue concerns allegations that he was placed on a blacklist. We are awaiting the commission’s written decision on the matter.”
Other candidates in Dhanusha-1 include Ram Chandra Mandal from the CPN-UML, Ram Paltan Sah from the Nepali Congress, Matrika Prasad Yadav from the Nepali Communist Party, Deepak Karki from the Janata Samajwadi Party, and Brahmadev Mahato from the Janamat Party.
