The Election Commission has completed printing of 3 million ballots for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) candidates for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.
According to the Commission's spokesperson and Joint Secretary Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the tally reached 3 million as of Saturday night, covering the requirements for 25 districts so far.
Bhattarai noted that the Commission is currently printing between 1.2-1.5 million ballots daily and confirmed that the work is progressing strictly according to the election schedule. Furthermore, he stated that printing of ballots for the proportional representation (PR) system has already been completed.
A total of 20,830,000 PR ballots have been printed. Spokesperson Bhattarai expressed confidence in the timeline, stating that the remaining ballot printing will be finished soon as they remain well within the designated election calendar.
