President Ram Chandra Paudel is set to pay an official visit to Japan from February 1-4.
According to Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, President Paudel will depart for Japan on the night of February 1 on a Nepal Airlines flight. He will lead a Nepali delegation at the invitation of the Japanese government to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan. Rai mentioned that the president will return home on February 4 via the same airline after completing the visit.
During the visit, President Paudel is scheduled to hold a state meeting with Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on February 3. Foreign Secretary Rai stated that President Paudel will also hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on the same day.
President Paudel will participate in a special reception organized by the Government of Japan in the context of celebrating the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations on February 2.
During the visit, Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Horii Iwao will also pay a courtesy call on President Paudel. President Paudel will also participate in a meeting with the Japanese business community and attend a reception organized in his honor by the Nepali Embassy in Japan.
President Paudel will be accompanied by his wife Sabita Paudel, and high-level government officials.
