The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has summoned Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Swagat Nepal for questioning. He is a candidate from RPP for Jhapa-2.
A team from the Bureau contacted him via telephone and asked him to report to the office. Spokesperson and SP Deepak Raj Awasthi informed that Nepal was called in to clarify certain matters. "It is not a serious matter. He has been called to understand some issues," he said.
Some time ago, Nepal had commented that the Nepal Army should take control of the situation and form a civilian government.
RPP Spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha has expressed opposition to the Cyber Bureau summoning the party's candidate Nepal.
"Prithvi Narayan Shah had fragmented even his own family members and relatives who tried to divide the country. Even now, those who seek to divide the country must be torn apart. It seems they are trying to arrest him regarding his statement that, like Prithvi Narayan Shah, he would tear apart even his own family if they tried to divide the country," Spokesperson Shrestha stated.
He further added that the attempt to cause unnecessary trouble and obstruct election activities would not be tolerated.
