Nepali Congress (NC) has almost finalized its candidates in the mountainous districts.
NC Joint General Secretary Dila Sangroula Panta informed that the work of selecting candidates in the mountainous districts is nearly complete. She stated that for the remaining districts, a Parliamentary Board meeting will be held at four Monday afternoon to finalize the candidates.
The recently elected NC leadership has also moved forward with discussions to provide tickets to leaders from the group of outgoing NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba. The establishment is preparing to give tickets to leaders from the Deuba faction who have the potential to win the election.
"The party will enter the election united by including everyone," Joint General Secretary Sangroula said. "The list of names will be released only after all candidates have been finalized."
According to one leader, the leadership has given Spokesperson Dev Raj Chalise and Central Committee Member Madhu Acharya the responsibility of communicating with outgoing President Deuba's faction. Following this, leaders stated that dialogues are ongoing with leaders Bal Krishna Khand and Ramesh Lekhak, as well as Minendra Rijal, who is close to Shekhar Koirala.
