Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has started looking for rental housing for Balen Shah began preparations to contest the upcoming election from Jhapa–5.
According to RSP Jhapa Chair Prakash Pathak, two houses have already been finalized around Campus Mode in Damak–3. Pathak said they are looking for one more house.
“We looked for three houses in total—including for Shah’s residence and for use as a contact office once he becomes a candidate from Jhapa–5. Two have already been finalized,” Pathak said.
A group including RSP leaders and cadres will reach Jhapa–5 today, according to Pathak.
After Shah’s decision to contest from Jhapa-5, some influencers close to him have also started conducting surveys. They said they had carried out preliminary surveys earlier as well. Following his decision to contest, he has prepared to resign from his post as mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
Jhapa–5 is the constituency of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. Oli has not been defeated in this constituency except in 2008.
There are 163,379 voters in Jhapa–5. There are 61 polling locations and 185 polling centers designated there.
