Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has said that the campaign they are leading will strengthen the party.
Referring to rumors about a possible party split, he said that “the party will not split, even if someone wants it to.”
During a conversation with leaders Chandra Bhandari and Sunil Sharma, General Secretary Thapa said, “Our campaign will make the party strong. Some people say the party might split or be broken apart. I want to reassure party workers across the country, with you as witnesses, that the party will not split. Even if someone wants, it will not split. If a truly difficult situation arises, I will drink poison myself and protect party unity.”
He said that the campaign was launched to make the party relevant and that efforts are ongoing in that direction.
Thapa also remarked that the CPN-UML tends to dismiss the Gen Z movement as insignificant, adding that the Nepali Congress should not think in that way.
