Three candidates from the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) have filed their nominations for the National Assembly election in Koshi province.
On Wednesday, Namita Neupane of the NCP filed her nomination under the women’s cluster, Khemraj Sundas under the Dalit cluster, and Hemraj Ghimire under the other cluster.
Among the candidates, Neupane and Sundas are from Morang and represent the former CPN (Maoist Center). Ghimire, from Sankhuwasabha, represents the former CPN (Unified Socialist).
Earlier, the CPN had been in talks to join the electoral alliance with the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress. However, the party withdrew from those discussions at the final hour and decided to field its candidates independently for the National Assembly.
