Nepali Congress leader Amod Prasad Upadhyaya has passed away.
According to Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, chief of the party’s publicity department, Upadhyaya died while undergoing treatment on Sunday.
Upadhyaya was a former central committee member of the NC and a former minister.
Following Upadhyaya’s death, the NC has also called an emergency central committee meeting to pass a condolence motion.
NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel said that the meeting has been called for 9 a.m. on Monday (December 15). The meeting will take place at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
Chief Secretary Paudel said that the central working committee’s office-bearers, members, invited members, and the presidents of all seven provinces have been requested to attend the meeting.
Upadhyaya was a former minister for education and sports.
