Prime Minister Sushila Karki has inducted four more ministers into her Cabinet.
The newly-appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy during a ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas, the Office of the President, around 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
The new ministers include Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Shraddha Shrestha, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Kumar Ingnam, Minister for Labor, Employment, and Social Security Rajendra Singh Bhandari, and Minister for Forests and Environment Madhav Chaulagain.
With Friday’s expansion, the Karki-led Cabinet now has 14 members.
Ingnam is a professor at Kathmandu School of Law. An expert in international trade and arbitration and financial crime law, Ingnam has authored several books. Before joining Kathmandu School of Law, he taught at Mahendra Ratna Multiple Campus in Ilam.
Bhandari is a former additional inspector general of Nepal Police. He was the founding chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).
Chaulagain is a public health expert and has conducted extensive research on the Karnali region. He has published a book on Karnali titled Sapadalaksha Karnali, and his song Mantha Hun Ma Mantha gained significant popularity recently.
Shrestha is a senior manager at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). She was the project chief of the Sustainable Tourism program at NTB.
