The deadline for registering political parties for the House of Representatives elections has been extended.
Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the Election Commission said that the deadline for party registration, initially set for November 26, has been extended until November 30.
"The total number of parties currently registered with the Election Commission has reached 137, while the processing of applications received for new party registrations is still underway. Considering the rush of service seekers for party registration for the purpose of the House of Representatives members election, and the requests received from various political parties and other stakeholders, the commission's meeting on November 26, 2025, has extended the deadline for registration of political parties for the House of Representatives members election until November 30, 2025," the Election Commission said in the release.
With the party registration period set from November 17 to November 26, applications have been received from 106 parties so far for the House of Representatives elections, according to the Commission.
