President Paudel issues ordinance related to Nepal Special Service

President Ram Chandra Paudel has issued an ordinance related to Nepal Special Service.

On Friday, President Paudel issued the “Nepal Special Service Act Second Amendment Ordinance, 2025” on the recommendation of the government, according to the Office of the President (Sheetal Niwas).

The government had recommended issuing the ordinance to amend the Nepal Special Service Act, 1985.

Based on that recommendation, President Paudel has issued the ordinance.

The government brought this ordinance to place the National Investigation Department (NID), which was under the Prime Minister’s Office, under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A Cabinet meeting held on September 25 had decided to bring the National Investigation Department, previously under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
