CPN-UML central member Prakash Shah is set to leave the party.
He is preparing to join the Nepali Communist Party led by Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Bhim Rawal, who has been running the Matribhumi Jagaran Abhiyan after the UML took action against him, stripping him of even ordinary membership, is also set to join the party. According to one leader, Shah will enter the party together with Rawal.
“Prakash Shah ji is positive about joining the Nepali Communist Party. He had long been dissatisfied with Chairman KP Sharma Oli. He had been expressing differing opinions in party committee meetings,” the leader said.
Shah was considered close to Rawal when he was in the UML. After action was taken against Rawal, Shah had spoken against it.
Shah was elected as a Sudur Paschim Provincial Assembly member in the 2017 election. He served as the minister for internal affairs and economic planning of Sudur Paschim province.
