Two newly-appointed ministers were sworn in on Sunday.
Minister for Health and Population Sudha Sharma Gautam and Minister for Youth and Sports Bablu Gupta took the oath of office and secrecy before President Ram Chandra Paudel at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, on Sunday afternoon.
Although there were preparations to administer oaths to four ministers on Sunday, the oaths of two were put on hold.
Gautam is a former health secretary, while Gupta is the chairman of the 100 Group.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki had recommended Ganapatilal Shrestha for appointment as land minister. Shrestha, however, declined the portfolio. Earlier, his name had been proposed for the position of minister for culture, tourism, and civil aviation.
Additionally, Khagendra Sunar had been recommended for labor minister. His oath was postponed after it was revealed that he was facing cases in three courts.
The Cabinet led by Karki has now reached 10 members.
