Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court against the party's split.
Deepak Kumar Sah, who was the vice-chairman of Janamat, had formed the Janaswaraj Party by splitting the party a few days ago.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court registered the petition filed by Raut against the disgruntled faction forming another party.
Raut has named the Election Commission as the defendant.
The case has been scheduled for hearing on Friday.
Raut had expelled Sah, claiming he acted against the party's policies.
The Election Commission also recognized the Janaswaraj Party formed after the split on October 14.
