Kathmandu Valley Mayors' Forum to contribute Rs 50 million for reconstruction of Singha Durbar

The Kathmandu Valley Mayors' Forum has announced a contribution of 50 million rupees for the reconstruction of Singha Durbar.

Forum Chair and Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan, made this announcement during a press conference on Friday.

He said that the forum will also provide 10 million rupees to the Valley Police Office to strengthen security arrangements in the Kathmandu Valley.

Similarly, the forum has expressed commitment to provide additional support to facilitate the services of police posts and municipalities that were vandalized during the Gen Z movement on September 9.

The forum mentioned that the arson and vandalism carried out by anarchic groups in the name of the Gen Z movement have not only affected the country, but also brought disrepute and disrespect in the international community, striking at Nepal's identity, democracy, and sovereignty.

The forum has urged the government to investigate and take the strictest possible action against those involved in anarchic activities.
