Jhala Nath Khanal's wife loses left hand

Ravi Laxmi Chitrakar, the wife of senior CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhala Nath Khanal, has lost her left hand.

According to family sources, Chitrakar, who is in the ICU at Burn Hospital in Kirtipur, underwent surgery on Wednesday, and her left hand was amputated.

The part below her elbow has been amputated.

During the protests on September 9, the residence of Khanal and Chitrakar was also set on fire. Chitrakar sustained severe burns from the fire and was critically injured.

She has now developed pneumonia as well.

However, her health condition is improving.
