Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a phone conversation with her Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, on Thursday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing to issue a press release providing details on the topics discussed by Prime Minister Karki with Indian Prime Minister Modi.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Modi wrote on social media that he had a warm conversation with Nepal's interim Prime Minister Karki.
In a post on the social media platform X, Modi said that he “conveyed heartfelt condolences on the recent tragic loss of lives and reaffirmed India’s steadfast support for her efforts to restore peace and stability.”
He further said that he also extended warm greetings to PM Karki and the people of Nepal on their Constitution Day, which falls on Friday.
India's Ministry of External Affairs was the first to extend congratulations and best wishes to Karki immediately after her swearing-in ceremony on Friday night.
Later, while speaking at a conference in Manipur, Indian Prime Minister Modi cited Nepal as an example.
