India has welcomed the formation of the new interim government under the leadership of Sushila Karki.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement welcoming the development shortly after newly-appointed Prime Minister Karki was sworn into office by President Ram Chandra on Friday night.
Welcoming the formation of the Karki-led interim government, India expressed hope that this would help in fostering peace and stability.
“As a close neighbor, a fellow democracy and a long-term development partner, India will continue to work closely with Nepal for the well-being and prosperity of our two peoples and countries,” the statement further said.
