Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has stated that the current Constitution must be continued. He believes that the country should move forward based on this Constitution.
In a video message posted on Facebook on Thursday, Thapa has said, “You must be mindful of the continuity of this Constitution. Whatever we do must be based on this Constitution because if our society does not accept the closure of social media, who will accept the snatching of our civil rights? There will be another movement."
He has said that the current Constitution should be retained and that any changes should be made through amendments and modifications within it.
“Let's keep this Constitution and amend and modify it as you say. We will try to reform the party and change the leadership. But if we try to find a solution outside the Constitution, it might work for a while, but eventually, it will become unmanageable," he has said.
He has also stated that everyone's support and cooperation would be needed for reconstruction and that those who made mistakes should be punished according to the law.
"You have to manage it yourself; you should not let it get worse," he has urged.
He has also apologized and promised to mend ways.
