Ravi Laxmi Chitrakar, the wife of senior CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhala Nath Khanal, is currently undergoing treatment at the Kirtipur Hospital for burns.
She was injured with burn wounds after protestors set fire to the Khanal residence in Dallu. Jhala Nath was not at home when the protestors set the house on fire, but his wife, Ravi Laxmi, was.
According to Unified Socialist leader Jeevan Ram Shrestha, her condition is now improving. A hospital source also confirmed that Ravi Laxmi's health has improved since Tuesday.
Protestors set fire to the Khanal residence in Dallu Tuesday morning. She was severely injured because protestors lit the fire while she was still inside the house.
She was at home with her son, Nirbhik Khanal, when the protestors started the fire. After being caught in the flames, she was taken to the Nepali Army Hospital in Chhauni where she was treated at the Intensive Care Unit. She was later transferred to the Kirtipur Hospital for further treatment.
