The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is preparing to recall two ministers representing the party in the federal government and replace them with new ones.
According to a JSP office-bearer who spoke to Setopati, Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav and Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishore Sah Sudi will be recalled, and new ministers will be sent in their place.
“The ministers participating in the government had been told in the beginning itself that it was for only one year. Accordingly, the party has decided to recall them and send new ministers,” the office-bearer said. “The chairman has already given the names of the new ministers to the prime minister.”
According to the office-bearer, Chairman Ashok Rai has proposed Birendra Mahato as the new minister for water supply and Ranju Thakur as the new minister for women, children, and senior citizens to the prime minister.
“However, it is not yet certain when the prime minister will reshuffle the Cabinet,” the office-bearer added.
According to the JSP office-bearer, Chairman Rai has also instructed the two ministers currently in the KP Sharma Oli-led government to return.
A meeting of the party’s office-bearers held on Saturday also discussed recalling the ministers representing the party in the government and sending new ones in their places.
