The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has suspended its leader Hari Prasad Kandel.
Kandel was arrested on Thursday by police on charges of involvement in printing fake educational certificates. The RSP suspended him on Friday.
Kandel, who hails from Padampur, Kalika Municipality-5, Chitwan, was the coordinator of the RSP's Bagmati province training department.
Issuing a statement on Friday, acting chief of the RSP's central disciplinary commission, Ramakanta Rimal, announced that Kandel was suspended from all party responsibilities.
The RSP disciplinary commission said that Kandel was suspended from party responsibilities to facilitate the police's necessary investigation and inquiry.
The police reported that they have begun an investigation against Kandel on charges of producing fake educational certificates.
