The Nepali Congress has expressed disagreement over the Political Party Self-evaluation Procedure introduced by the Election Commission.
The commission had earlier urged political parties and stakeholders to provide suggestions on the procedure by Thursday.
NC General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that the party has disagreements regarding the procedure drafted by the Commission.
"Political parties should be evaluated by the people and guided by the Constitution," Sharma said. "We clearly disagree with the draft of the Political Party Self-evaluation Procedure 2082 prepared by the Election Commission."
Earlier on Thursday, the CPN-UML also objected to the procedure introduced by the commission.
Additionally, a meeting of opposition parties, called by CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, on Wednesday also decided to oppose the procedure brought by the Election Commission, stating that it was against the Constitution.
