The CPN (Maoist Center) has placed former vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun in the sixth position in the party’s hierarchy.
After returning to active politics, Pun was nominated as vice-chairman by the Maoist party.
Pun was brought back into active politics at the insistence of Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Although some Maoist leaders held the view that a person who had already served as vice-president should not be brought back into party politics, the Maoist Center appointed him as vice-chairman.
Pun is also participating in the Maoist Center standing committee meeting taking place in Kathmandu for the past few days. Meanwhile, the Maoist Center has listed Pun in the sixth position on its website.
Former vice-president Pun holds the sixth position in the party after Chairman Dahal, Senior Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha, and Vice-chairpersons Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Agni Prasad Sapkota, and Pampha Bhusal.
Pun served two terms as vice-president when Bidya Devi Bhandari was the president.
