President Ram Chandra Paudel has appointed three justices to the Supreme Court.
On Monday, President Paudel appointed justices to the three vacant positions in the Supreme Court, according to Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, spokesperson for the President's Office.
The newly-appointed justices are Senior Advocate Meghraj Pokharel, Chief Judge of Janakpur High Court Shreekanta Paudel, and Chief Judge of Dipayal High Court Shanti Singh Thapa.
Earlier on Monday, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee approved the three for appointment as Supreme Court justices.
The appointments were made based on the recommendation of the Judicial Council to fill the vacant positions in the Supreme Court.
The Judicial Council had recommended Pokharel, Paudel, and Thapa for Supreme Court justices on June 10.
